We had a great success running our 5th Mizuumi-Con at OLLU. The club is proud to have been able to make this happen and bring thousands of people (literally) to the OLLU campus here in San Antonio.

Mizuumi Con 4: Meet the Staff

Hello internets!


For those of you fortunate enough to not run into me yet, I am Patrick Lloyd, sitting president of the Mizuumi Anime Club at Our Lady of the Lake University. On March 26th, 2011, the club is hosting Mizuumi Con 4!

With the convention coming up I thought it would be a good idea to introduce you to some of the faces you're bound to see come con-day.

MEET THE STAFF TIME!

















Let's start with the Club's Advisors:

Darrell "The All Around Aardvark" Hoberer
Location in Picture: Dead center, front row, red shirt
Bio:
Been at OLLU for almost 18 years Started as a computer lab workstudy, then student supervisor, then network administrator, now a Helpdesk Senior Technician. 3 great kids and a wife who tolerates my addiction to running conventions

Job: Handles everything in the background, ensures the club isn't being run into the ground, keeps a watchful eye on money and things of that sort, he's done this long enough that we just listen.

Christopher Pagonis

Job: Vendor and Artist Alley Coordinator
Experience: Far too much

These two are possibly the greatest assets Mizuumi Con has, they've seen many staff and guests come and go and they guide us properly. We're about to hit our fourth go through, here's to forty more!

Patrick "Shamanic Enzan" Lloyd

Convention Position: Chieftain/Figure Head
Bio: 20 year old CISS student, massive fan of giant robots, much to the chagrin of every other member of the club. Hails from Dallas. Enjoys long walks on the beach....in Halo.

Jorge "The Game" Sandoval

Role in Club: Current Vice President, Former Staff Member in High School

Aleia "Eaglebeaver" Elgabrowny
Location: Right behind Christopher, curly hair and glasses
Role in Club: Current Treasurer and Student Government Representative, Former Secretary

Victoria Ellen Wixon (Don't call me Vicky)

Bio: I'm 18 years old and CISS student here at OLLU. I love sci-fi, fantasy, and romance anime, I'm obsessed with Pokemon and have OCD cause I literally am compulsively collecting them all... Then leveling them up to level 100 to slaughter everyone I battle.

Along side the board there are other students and members of the OLLU and San Antonio Anime communities who assist us with various parts of the convention.

Welcome to Fall 2010

Welcome, new students, to OLLU! The Mizuumi Anime Club, one of OLLU’s most active and fun student orgs, is about to kick off a great year of anime showings and special events. Officer elections happened at the final meeting of last semester, and we’re proud to present the leadership team for the 10-11 school year.

If you haven’t heard, the Mizuumi Anime Club hosts Mizuumi-Con on campus every year. This one-day anime convention will be held in mid-April 2011. The 2011 event will be the 4th Mizuumi-Con. Last year, we had over 1500 attendees here enjoying our beautiful campus and partaking in events. The convention is a fundraiser for the club and a charity event. In the past, a portion of the proceeds have been donated to the Congregation of Divine Providence, the order that founded and continues to sponsor OLLU. Mizuumi-Con always needs staff and volunteers, so we hope that many of you will be interested in helping to make #4 the best one yet!

"Ponyo"


Dear Mizuumi Club Members,

This week we want to do something different. With the movie "PONYO" out, we want to go view it. Instead of meeting for our "normal" club viewing, we are going to the movies. Here's the catch, you will have to pay for your ticket and...............................................................................................you HAVE to let us know if you want to go. We are getting the Lake vans and making the trip to Fiesta 16 Theaters for our little adventure. The movie begins at 7:40 so we will be leaving around 6:30. Tickets will be $7.50 WITH STUDENT ID.

Club Rush 09

We had a fun time at club rush and met lots of new students. The table was well staffed with officers, advisors, and members who always like to hang around (you know who you are :p). We had lots of goodies to show off and VP Cross’s great idea of cheering every time someone signed up for the mailing list was the hit of club rush. We have to do that every year!
